Working hard to provide the University experience possible to Monash students the 2020 BCSS Caulfield Committee brings together 22 dedicated Committee Members

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Mary Herten

President

The President is responsible for overseeing communication and collaboration between committee members, both executive and general, MONSU, the Monash Business School and other student societies. In this role, the President will often assist social and professional teams in their operational tasks, in addition to leading and motivating all committee members.

Jack Stewart

Vice President

This role involves providing the President with assistance required, ensuring all tasks are completed to the fullest potential. The Vice President will often lead orientation weeks, ensure all committee members have equal and fair tasks to complete, collaborate with the marketing director and team, in addition to following-up sponsorship progression.

Katharina Bockelmann

Secretary

In this role, the Secretary works closely with the Society’s governing body regarding the Society’s financial position and the completion of administrative tasks, assisting with the organisation and marketing of events. The Secretary also oversees the induction and mentoring program for first year students, and records minutes for all meetings.

Ronen Jafari

Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for guiding the short- and long-term financial stability of the Society. In this role, the Treasurer will establish provisional budgets for all upcoming events and monitor the Society’s income and expenses through liaising with Monash University, suppliers and venue coordinators regarding the Society’s financial movements.

Jacob Arnott

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant takes responsibility for the management and maintenance of committee members within BCSS Caulfield. This involves monitoring attendance at compulsory events, involvement on social media platforms necessary for advertising purposes and collecting internal payments. In addition, the Executive Assistant will assist the Secretary with recruitment and various tasks.

Lachlan Hotchin

Professional Director

This role predominately involves establishing and managing relationships with all professional firms, in addition to creating sponsorship packages. As a Stream Director, they are responsible for managing their team and ensuring that tasks are delegated equally and fairly, in addition to monitoring their performance and collaborating with the executive team.

Sarah Hunter

Social Director

It is the Social Director’s role to facilitate the organisation of all social events for members of BCSS Caulfield in order to create fun and vibrant student experiences. They are responsible for delegating tasks to Social Officers in an equal and fair manner, in addition to communicating progress with the executive team.

Katya Syngeniotis

Marketing Director

The Marketing Director is responsible for creating content for all BCSS Caulfield’s platforms, being proactive in doing so. They are responsible for organising all merchandise for committee members and orientation week, in addition to establishing campaigns for all upcoming events. This requires frequent collaboration with the Professional and Social Directors.

Thi Reynolds

Assistant Professional Director

The Assistant Professional Director is responsible for working closely with the Professional Director in providing additional support in the management, delegation and completion of necessary tasks. This may include creating sponsorship packages, establishing and maintaining relationships with firms and organising professional events for students.

Brianna Sibly

Professional Officer

The team of Professional Officers are responsible for assisting the Professional Director with tasks during the course of the year. This may include creating sponsorship packages, establishing and maintaining relationships with firms, organising professional events for students and brainstorming ways the Professional Stream can grow and develop in future years.

William Lindsay

Professional Officer

The team of Professional Officers are responsible for assisting the Professional Director with tasks during the course of the year. This may include creating sponsorship packages, establishing and maintaining relationships with firms, organising professional events for students and brainstorming ways the Professional Stream can grow and develop in future years.

Jonno Thorn

Professional Officer

The team of Professional Officers are responsible for assisting the Professional Director with tasks during the course of the year. This may include creating sponsorship packages, establishing and maintaining relationships with firms, organising professional events for students and brainstorming ways the Professional Stream can grow and develop in future years.

Gen Wah

Assistant Social Director

The Assistant Social Director is responsible for working closely with the Social Director in providing additional support in the management, delegation and completion of necessary tasks. Responsible for ensuring constant and clear communication, efficient planning of social events the social team aims to provide a more vibrant student life. 

Marabella Vario

Social Officer

Within the Society, it is the Social Officer’s duty to assist the Social Director in their role. They are responsible for ensuring constant and clear communication with venues and suppliers, in addition to efficient planning being conducted prior to social events. It is their responsibility to aim for more vibrant student life.

John Mezo

Social Officer

Within the Society, it is the Social Officer’s duty to assist the Social Director in their role. They are responsible for ensuring constant and clear communication with venues and suppliers, in addition to efficient planning being conducted prior to social events. It is their responsibility to aim for more vibrant student life.

Alex Stopp

Social Media Manager

Social Media Managers are responsible for the coordination of social media content across all channels, ensuring sponsored posts go out punctually. The Social Media Manager must ensure content posted is relevant to events being run by the Social and Professional Streams frequently throughout the year.

Georgia Gale

Publications Officer

The Publications Officer is responsible for assisting the Marketing Director, with a special focus on establishing and creating physical copies of marketing content for members and students of the University. They are in charge of managing the BCSS Caulfield website and planning out all email content and corresponding timelines.

Mark Pallozzi

Visual Designer

In this role, the Visual Designer manages all design work for the Society. The Visual Designer will take creative control over campaign creative content for the Society’s events, collaborating with the Marketing Director and Stream when required. In addition, they are responsible for creating marketing collateral.

Dixie Goodwin

HR Manager

The HR Manager is responsible for working with committee members to ensure the best events and environment can be provided to students and committee members. This includes collaborating with the Sponsorship Manager and Strategy & Student Experience Officer to provide the necessary support and sponsorship required for a successful year. 

Anth Command

Sponsorship Manager

The Sponsorship Manager has the responsibility of sourcing sponsorship prizes and donations for various social events and orientation week festivities, as well as assisting with the Professional Sponsorships. They are responsible for ensuring all sponsorship commitments are satisfied as agreed with organisations and for communicating with the Social, Professional and Marketing directors. 

Leah Nassis

Strategy and Student Experience Officer

The Strategy and Student Experience Officer is responsible for working with students and committee members to ensure the best opportunities and events can be provided to students. This includes collaborating with Stream Directors and corporate sponsors in order to provide students with necessary support during their time at Monash University.

semester 1 intake

The first intake is held in mid-late march and the process is as follows:

  • Online Application (application dates and link will be published on our facebook page)!
  • 1st round interviews
  • 2nd round interviews
  • General Representatives are announced
  • At each stage both successful and unsuccessful candidates will be notified, should you be unsuccessful please do not be discouraged, competition is always high and there are many other opportunities to get involved with the team!

semester 2 intake

The second intake is held in early october and the process is as follows:

  • Keep an eye on our facebook page for application dates
  • Submit an expression of interest to our committee applications email (state your name and contact number as well as a little bit about yourself and the three positions you want to apply for)
  • Write a speech outlining your suitability for the roles selected as well as what you hope to bring to the team
  • Attend AGM, listen to speeches, participate in voting and wait to hear the results!
  • Each year the number of applications received during the october intake varies, thus additional steps in the application process may need to be added should there be high demand!
