MEET NEW PEOPLE
Nothing makes a transition easier than having friends who are going through the same thing as you. From study groups, to party pals, the diverse people you will come across at Monash will help make your time at University not only bearable during the assignments and exam times, but much more fun and exciting all-year round!
GET INVOLVED
Dive into the deep-end of University life and take advantage of everything the Monash community has to offer. Joining clubs (like BCSS!), and attending their events gives you the best opportunity to meet new people and broaden your horizon. Take advantage of networking events,
exchange programs, and internships on offer – it’s never too early!
STAY BALANCED
There’s a fine art of balancing life at home, University and work, let alone making sure you have time to stay active, eat well, and look after yourself. Your first year at University is the best stage to figure out what works for you. Get into a routine – by doing a little bit of study every week, you’ll be much less stressed, without having to play catch up in Week 10 … trust us, it’s not fun!
TO THE FIRST YEARS OF 2019:
Go to Comm Camp
Memorise your Student ID number pronto
Get familiar with Monash Moodle (your new best friend)
Don’t flunk your first year – you’ll spend forever trying to pull your GPA back up
Go to consults, and don’t leave all your questions until Week 12
Be yourself and have fun!
